Now hiring a Lead Groundskeeper!

 

To plan, coordinate control, and perform, Facility Grounds Maintenance operations within a specified portion (Zone) of PHS-A facilities as assigned. The grounds staff shall be capable of working with little or no supervision, and limited direction.

Ideal Candidate:

High School Diploma or GED with minimum of 1 year of a lead grounds maintenance experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with minimum of 1 year of a lead grounds maintenance experience.
  • Must have a valid NM drivers license and be insurable.
      

Education Essential: High School Diploma or GED

 

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and gives direction and or training to employees with less experience.
  • Handling and packaging of used oil or hydraulic fluids for proper disposal for compliance with regulations.
  • Perform Preventative maintenance procedures, on fixtures and equipment within a predetermined Zone in a timely manner as prescribed in Facility Services Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Primary responsibility and accountability for performing repairs, lubrication, and adjustment on all hospital grounds equipment as to ensure a comfortable and safe environment.
  • Prioritization of tasks and methods with a great deal of independence to operate within established PHS and Facility Services policies, procedures, and schedules.
  • Serve as a resource to departments within Zone in the area of facility maintenance operations
  • Maintains applicable grounds licensure including pesticides application license.
  • Performs installations, repairs and preventive maintenance procedures on grounds equipment and other generally accepted grounds service jobs
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints, codes, and other associated documents to complete jobs
  • Ability to use power equipment and hand tools appropriately to perform work
  • Evaluates, monitors and recommends enhancements to the grounds operations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
