Summary.

 

Presbyterian is hiring an experienced Surgical Tech to join our team at Presbyterian Hospital!

 

The Surgical Technologist will provide assistance and support to surgeons by preparing and providing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures in the Operating Room. The tech works under the supervision of the surgeon and facilitates a safe, effective and orderly operating room to maximize patient safety.

Qualifications

Surgical Tech - level I Requirements :

 

  • HS Diploma or GED plus short-term training in operating room setting or graduate of surgical technician certification from an accredited school or training program required.
  • Current BLS required
  • Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment and a working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique.
  • Minimum of 2+ years experience in a hospital or outpatient operating room if not from an accredited training program.

Surgical Tech - level II Requirements : 

 

  • HS Diploma or GED plus short-term training in operating room setting or graduate of surgical technician certification from an accredited school or training program required.
  • Current BLS required
  • Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment and a working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique.
  • Minimum of 2+ years experience in a hospital or outpatient operating room if not from an accredited training program.
  • Certification Required **or minimum of 5+ years of experience and skillset to perform all specialties** in lieu of certification. 

Surgical Tech - level III Requirements :

 

  • HS Diploma or GED plus short-term training in operating room setting or graduate of surgical technician certification from an accredited school or training program required.
  • Current BLS required
  • Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment and a working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a hospital operating room 
  • Certification Required **or minimum of 10+ years of experience and skillset to perform all specialties**.
