Essential: Academic Preparation:
*Degree from accredited academic nursing program (If a program is under conditional status, approval may be granted by system CNO)
* Associate Degree
Credentials:
Essential: Licensure: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
* Registered Nurse-NM
Meet initial education requirements: PHS Preceptor online education or passing score on challenge exam plus the practicum course
Attend ongoing preceptor development educational sessions, as available
Remain in good standing
Practice consistently in accordance with PHS Policies and Procedures, American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, evidence-based guidelines, and optimal patient safety initiatives.
Validate competencies of orientee on competency-based orientation (CBO) and ensure that it is returned for employee’s personnel file.
Collaborate with the management and education teams on orientee’s progress and evaluation.
