Summary:
Presbyterian is hiring a Oral Maxillofacial Surgical Assistant for the Maxillofacial Clinic at Pan American. (Northside) The Surgical Assistant provides primary support to the provider by preparing the patient for the visit. Responsible for effectively communicating with the oral and maxillofacial surgery team while assisting during all phases of the clinical sessions. Accurately prepares each room with equipment and supplies and assists with oral surgical procedures including taking vital signs, digital images and x-rays and reviewing pre/post-operative instruction to patients.
*Provides support for clerical functions to include scheduling, referrals, and prior authorizations
*Performs activities to maintain a clean, stocked, safe, and well-organized patient care environment
*One year of experience as oral surgery assistant.
*Current Radiology and BLS, ACLS certifications required.
*Maintain current certifications in required emergency response trainings.
*Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Assistant (COMSA) by the
Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) or current certification as a
Dental Assistant (CDA) preferred.

High School Diploma or GED
