Now hiring a Technical Writer/Copywriting Specialist-Performance Improvement

  • This position manages the copywriting process for the development and distribution of customer, employee and key stakeholder materials in many styles and media, including electronic.
  • Serves as a key member of the production team and is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely production of copy.
  • This position requires expert writing, editing and proofreading skills and organizational skills.
  • Accountable for the accuracy and quality of outputs. Responsible for research, audience analysis and compliance with regulatory requirements for copy and materials.
  • Serves as a liaison with clients, when needed.
  • Presents ideas to colleagues and/or clients.
  • Collaborates with graphic designer.
  • Explores innovation and automation in the development and copy and implements best practice methods

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Journalism, Communications, or Business with Marketing emphasis.
  • Three to five years experience in communications. Healthcare communications experience preferred 
  • Adept with computer software and tools.
  • Expert writing, editing and proofreading skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the accuracy and quality of outputs. Ensures copy is factually correct. Utilizes processes for proofreading and checking of spelling and grammar.
  • Works effectively in production teams, contributing to creative ideas and concepts. Explores different ideas and concepts for both the visual and verbal elements in collaboration with the creative team.
  • Produces copy for many different media and styles, including: digital/electronic media, promotional materials, newsletters, articles, and letters. Writes body copy, headlines, themes, slogans, catch-phrases, captions, product names and other copy to create effective communications.
  • Takes information from briefings and writes and edits clear, concise, persuasive (when needed), original copy for customer, employee and key stakeholder materials. Varies tone and language and messages based on medium, target audience and product.
  • Writes copy to capture the target audience's attention and promote products and services with the right tonality. Understands requirements of the copy objective and produces core messages that drive all copy outputs. Determines best method to present information.
  • Works to gain an understanding of the clients products/services, target audience and their competitors activities. Researches technical properties of the products/services when needed.
  • Produces copy that is appropriate for the audience and meets standards for required reading levels as well as regulatory requirements. Can adapt and refresh information to be presented to different audiences.
  • Serves as a liaison with clients, when needed, to interpret their briefs. Presents ideas to colleagues and/or clients. Collaborates with graphic designer.
  • Preparing drafts of different initial options. Drafts may either be rejected or developed into workable concepts. Amends revises or redevelops copy in response to feedback as necessary and submits for approval by supervisor or client.
  • Performs other functions as required.
