Presbyterian is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic Emergency Department team. The LPN will provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and physicians. This role requires strong clinical skills, quick decision-making, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring quality care and patient safety.
Type of Opportunity: Full Time (0.9 FTE/36 hours per week)
Work Schedule: 12 Hour Nights

•Education: High School Diploma or GED
•Credentials: Licensed Practical Nurse-NM or out of state compact LPN license
•BLS required at time of hire
•PDS IV Certification course (within orientation period)
•Basic Cardiac Arrythmias (BCA) for areas where cardiac telemetry monitoring is used (prior to ACLS)
•ACLS (within 6 months of being hired) for areas where required
• Provide direct patient care, including taking vital signs, administering medications, and performing basic medical procedures as permitted by state regulations.
• Assist in the triage process by gathering patient information and documenting symptoms and medical histories.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to RNs and physicians.
• Assist with wound care, IV therapy, splinting, and other procedures as directed.
• Support patients and families by providing education and emotional reassurance during critical situations.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
• Uphold infection control practices and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Participate in emergency response situations and contribute to team efforts during critical events.
• Restock supplies and ensure the emergency department is prepared for patient care.
