Under the direction of the PHP Director of Finance Reporting and Operations, this position is responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising all activities as they relate to month-end GAAP reporting, Statutory reporting, operational and medical cost reporting, process improvement and special projects.

Ideal Candidate:

Prefer CPA license. Four to five years of health care accounting experience or related field. Management/Supervisor experience a most

Qualifications

Bachelors degree required in Accounting or related field, with four to five years of health care accounting experience. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for the selection, training, development, and evaluation of employees.
  • Performs the day-to-day management of employees to meet departmental goals, create an environment which fosters employee involvement, growth, satisfaction and ability to function effectively with colleagues.
  • Maintains relationships with all levels of leadership and staff to coordinate activities, to provide necessary education, to supply input and feedback and function as a subject-matter expert for the reporting functions of the Finance department.
  • Manages, plans, and coordinates the monthly closing process, general ledger reporting and analysis, and the preparation of monthly balance sheet and income statement. Includes the verification and authentication of information received from the other sources, adjusting and reclassifying journal entries, and the preparation and distribution of various reports.
  • Ensures that month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial reports are accurate, analyzed and reviewed as it related to medical costs.
  • Responsible for the development, planning, coordination and supervision of statutory reporting, desk audits of medical vendors, and other required reporting such as Medical Loss Ratio reporting.
  • Responsible for ad-hoc projects as needed.
  • Performs other functions as required.
