*Maintains established departmental type and quantities of meats, vegetables, soups, salads and desserts to be obtained and prepared.
*Plans and coordinates cooking schedules, policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.
*Previews menus and work orders to ensure that food will be ready at required times.
*Uses a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment including grinders, slicers, mixers, and blenders. Operates dishwasher to ensure all dishes and utensils are clean.
*Ensures that all food prepared meets existing standards for quality, freshness, taste, and appearance.
*Maintains department records, reports, and files as required.
*Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
*Sets up and serves patient trays in accordance with established schedule and procedures.
