The Charge Nurse in the Adult Medical Unit is responsible for overseeing daily nursing operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and serving as a resource for nursing staff. This role includes coordinating patient flow, managing staff assignments, and supporting the professional development of team members. The Charge Nurse will also collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and best practices.
Type of Opportunity: Full Time (0.9 FTE/36 hours per week)
Work Schedule: 12 Hour Nights

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
• BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire
• Minimum One year of nursing experience required
• Provide leadership and supervision to nursing staff during assigned shifts.
• Coordinate patient care activities, including admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Assign and adjust nursing staff assignments based on patient acuity and staff competency.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nurses, promoting best practices in patient care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and infection control guidelines.
• Facilitate communication between nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
• Monitor patient care quality and safety, addressing any concerns promptly.
