Summary:
Provides various food and dietary services for patients and hospital staff. Contributes to and supports the overall mission of the Dietary Department

Other information:
Reading, writing and basic math skills for interpreting diet orders required. Experience in commercial food handling, cleaning or cashiering preferred

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
*Obtains dietary orders from patient areas then creates worksheet for cooks and other staff.
*Creates tray slips enumerating and describing patient diets and puts together the patient trays
*Prepares coffee, toast, jell-o, salads, desserts and snacks for patients and hospital staff
*Sets up, maintains and serves customers in cafeteria dining room
*Prepares various cold food items for patients and staff.
*Cleans, mops, sweeps, maintains, organizes and sanitizes areas throughout the Department.
*Prepares nourishments and snacks for patients as directed.
*Retrieves carts and trays from nursing units after each mealtime and washes dishes, sanitizes equipment and dish room area.
*Assists with catering by gathering required items, delivering and setting up catering as specified. Responsible for cleaning up catering as well.
*Assists with inventory control by putting away deliveries in the prescribed manner and informing the Food Service Coordinator when par levels are diminished.
*Delivering to and stocking nourishment and break areas as requested
