Overview

Under the direction of the Healthcare Advanced Learning Lab Manager, the Simulation Technician will provide comprehensive setup and implementation support, including planning, coordinating, and executing of simulation activities and services.  Using industry standards and established best practices, this individual will be responsible for supply inventory and stocking, set-up and clean-up of simulation spaces for safe and optimal learning environments, set-up, maintenance, and inventory of equipment. You will assist with the implementation of events as directed including the operation of audiovisual equipment, computer software, and manikins, check-in, participant instructions, proctoring, functioning as a Standardized Patient or simulated healthcare provider in simulations. The simulation technician will also provide education to staff in accordance with their individual level of experience and licensing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree preferred or 6 years experience in healthcare operations, analytics, e-learning development, academic coordination, simulation, and/or information technology.
  • Allied health, emergency management such as paramedic experience preferred.
  • This position is on site in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

  • Simulation Data Analyst:
    • Conducts data gathering, reporting and analysis of complex outcomes and processes data to assist in identifying needs for target audiences
    • Creates optimal, budget-conscious tracking, and reporting workflows to achieve performance objectives
    • Drives the implementation of projects and tracking key data points in collaboration with management and team members
    • Builds the collection, analysis, and reports to provide to leadership of the simulation center and unit management on the educational program effectiveness
    • Incorporates best practices for data cleaning, data mining, and visualization and reporting techniques
    • Incorporates informatics and data tracking systems into daily work with team and clinical staff
    • Sets up and runs/troubleshoot simulations software to support services
  • Performance Evaluator
    • Assists internal teams to build and implement Levels 1-3 evaluation tools to measure the HALL projects/simulation services participant's satisfaction, learning, and transfer to performance based upon performance objectives
    • Assists management to assess project performance gaps and make suggestions for remediation action plans
  • Project Coordination
    • Provides exceptional customer service and meeting the needs of the customer (students, management, staff, nurse residents/fellows, and/or clinical contractors)
    • Independently leads projects assigned
    • Incorporates best practice standards in reporting to better inform management and leadership

    • Works and mentors team members within Clinical Education team to accelerate performance
    • Initiates and/or supports changes in practice through project tracking, e-learning development, educational technology, and applications
    • Work with Clinical Education to support nursing, allied health, and nurse residency programs
    • Precepts new team members to the role; may also train new preceptors
