Other information:
High School/GED, current NM drivers license is required (out of state candidates have 30 days from date of hire to obtain)
Must be at least 18 years of age with a driving record insurable per PHS policy.
Requires certification in defensive driving techniques.
Must possess and maintain a State of New Mexico Paramedic certification in good standing.
Must maintain a New Mexico drivers license without relevent restrictions.
Must maintain all required certifications (ACLS, BLS, DOT certification). Ability to perform CPR and all skills associated with Paramedic licensure.

Responsibilities:
*Provides prehospital emergency care and transportation for injured and/or ill patients to city hospitals.
*Maintains current working knowledge and certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
*Maintains positive communications and collaboration with Emergency Department physicians and staff regarding the definitive therapy administered to patients being delivered for emergency care at their facility.
*Documentation of patient care using current computerized patient documentation system. Documents and maintains an informative and accurate medical record and initiate charges for each patient treated.
*Assists in cleaning and maintaining emergency supplies and equipment for the department. Assists in providing preventive and/or routine maintenance to emergency vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety.
*Assists in the instruction of Emergency Medical Services students to provide for positive work related experiences.
*Maintains current working knowledge and certification in defensive driving techniques.
*Attends departmental staff meetings and/or in-service educational programs and keeps current with developments in the field through participation in seminars, workshops and/or publications.

Meets expectations for operational performance measures related to all time on task components. Proactively utilizes best practices to minimize response and drop times.
*Participates in and endorses the established Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS) guest relations program.
