Overview

Physical Therapists are movement experts who improve the quality of life through hands-on care, patient education, and prescribed movement. Our Physical therapists work as a team with physical therapy assistants to treat people of all ages and abilities.

 

This position with Presbyterian’s Outpatient rehabilitation department gives clinicians the opportunity to treat a variety of patients and the ability to work with a group of therapists that have a range of specialties. The Outpatient rehabilitation team is collaborative and patient focused. We place a strong emphasis on providing orientation and mentorship to ensure the well-being and success of our new team members.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy.

Doctorate of Physical Therapy Preferred.
NM PT License required

BLS at time of Hire required

Responsibilities

Requires detailed knowledge of physical therapy in terms of what and how work is to be done as

Well as why it is done, this level includes interpretation of data.

 

Basic computer skills required.

 

Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting

 

Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders.

Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served

Oversees and insures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and immediate environmental well-being of the patient

Promotes patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence.

Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in patient care.

Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care.

Is a patient advocate.

Other duties as assigned.

Settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long term care, community based care and home health care
