Overview

Presbyterian is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our dynamic team. The Interventional Radiology Technologist plays a critical role in performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using specialized imaging techniques. This position involves working closely with radiologists, physicians, and nurses to ensure the highest quality of patient care.

 

Type of Opportunity: Full Time (0.9 FTE/36 hours per week)
Work Schedule: 10 Hour Days

Qualifications

  • NM Radiography Tech (NMRRT)
  • Associate Degree
    • Education specialization Radiologic Sciences
  • BLS Certification is required at the time of hire.
  • PLEASE NOTE: This Position Requires Completion of ARRT (R) Certification within 1 year after graduation or exempt if hired before 1984. Candidates who are selected for the position must sign an agreement to obtain this credential.
  • One year of Interventional Radiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Radiologist/RPA with preparing, performing, and processing Interventional exams.
  • Ensures correct supplies are available before the start of the exam.
  • Uses safe practices for injectors, setting up the sterile tray, entering/leaving the room during the procedure, and radiation protection for all present during the case.
  • Monitors and documents pt contrast and radiation dosimetry
  • Completes annual competency created for specialty.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the function and operation of all equipment and supplies.
  • Ensures all equipment has had annual PM and or electrical safety checks and that all supplies used are present and not expired.
  • Discusses procedure needs and expectations with the radiologist before the procedure starts.
  • Able to assist the Radiologist during all procedures provided.
  • Able to instruct patients with pre-post procedure instructions and care.
  • Ensures all required documentation is available and completed according to established hospital guidelines.
  • Ensures all labs, and correlative radiology/blood results are available for review before the start of the procedure.
  • Recognizes when an unexpected or adverse event/outcome has occurred and documents in MIDAS. Brings to the immediate attention of Radiologist and Leader
  • Ensures room is left procedure ready for next exam.
  • Checks documents for accuracy before scanning into RIS/PACs
  • Performs appropriate post-processing labeling, exam documentation, and other pertinent pre/post-patient information required for safe radiation practices.
