Presbyterian is seeking an ED Supply Compliance Coordinator that will be under the direction of the ED Director, carries out the functions of material supply management, regulatory compliance and continual readiness for CNM Emergency Services. Also represents Emergency Services on hospital and community committees in areas of regulatory compliance and supply management. Is required to travel between CNM Emergency Departments to provide supply and compliance support

Ideal Candidate:

2+ years college level courses or Associates Degree in healthcare or business related field, 5+ years experience in a clinical setting or EMT-B Certification.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years college level courses or Associates Degree in healthcare or business related field, 5+ years experience in a clinical setting or EMT-B Certification.
  • Experience in customer service, and able to build rapport and trust quickly between co-workers and other departments.
  • 2+ years of experience in a healthcare environment and familiarity with medical terminology, clinical processes and medical supplies

Education Essential: High School Diploma or GED

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain medical supply and equipment par levels to support the work of Emergency Care in their respective departments.
  • Serves as a liaison between equipment and supply vendors and emergency services management.
  • Manages and controls the departmental material management functions, including: stock and non-stock inventory and special orders, using Lawson ordering and tracking process.
  • Acts as a resource to departmental personnel in matters such as purchasing procedures, timing and quantity of purchases and follow-up on delivery.
  • Compiles supply and purchasing reports, using historical data, proposed equipment needs research to assist ED management team in the development of supply and equipment budgets for the coming year.
  • Oversees and performs the daily quality control testing and documentation of all Point of Care testing equipment and modalities.
  • Represents CNM Emergency Services on the Point of Care Testing Committee.
  • Compiles weekly audit data reports for Lean Track productivity monitoring for CNM Emergency Departments and on-going process improvement.
  • Represents Emergency Services and PH Nursing on the Environment of Care Committee.
  • Maintains Omni-Cell system by performing daily audits of patient charges and credits for accuracy.
  • Represents CNM Emergency services on the Value Analysis Team.
  • Represents CNM Emergency Services on the Metropolitan Medical Response System Committee (MMRS) in support of the community disaster preparedness process.
  • Participates in the training of new employees and competency assessment in the areas of POCT, crash cart & defibrillator checks and warmer and refrigerator, medication room, and POCT room temperature monitoring.
  • Serves as the point of contact for the Emergency Services volunteer program. Conducts the orientation process for all ED volunteers on a biweekly basis and assists in the development of the volunteer work schedule.
  • Participates in and conducts monthly safety surveillance rounds for all CNM Emergency Departments as it pertains to OSHA, JCAHO and CMS standards, documenting all findings.
  • Assists with the implementation and documentation of the annual chemical inventory list.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of common OSHA, JCAHO and CMS standards and assist in communication of same to other staff members.
  • Contributes to the development of and assists in the implementation of new procedures and policies as needed to assess compliance issues.
  • Works to support the organizational vision of continual readiness for JCAHO and CMS regulatory review.
  • Serves as back-up for payroll and office supply management in the absence of the Emergency Services Senior Secretaries.
