Overview

Presbyterian is seeking a skilled Cardio Tech to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of Cardiovascular Lab patients.  Common responsibilities include performing electrocardiograms, ICD downloads, holter monitor and event recorder hook up. Perform cardiovascular stress testing.

 

Type of Opportunity: Full Time (1.0 FTE/40 hours per week)

Qualifications

  • Two or more years cardiac medicine experience required
  • Must pass treadmill training protocol within 6 months of hire
  • Take and pass Basic Arrhythmia Class within two attempts
  • Must take and pass City Wide Basic Arrhythmia Class.
  • Must take and pass annual yearly Basic Arrhythmia Challenge Test.
  •  CCT (Certified Cardiographic Technician) or CET (Certified EKG Technician) preferred.
  •  High School Diploma or GED
  • BLS certification required at time of hire

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and train newly hired cardiology techs.
  • Complete the analysis of stress test data within Merge.
  • Apply independent judgment during the exam of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and principles of cardiac stress testing.
  • Tailor the stress exam based on the type of issues, clinical signs, and symptoms based on different types of dysrhythmias and ensure completion of the performed exam at the direction of the provider.
  • Review patient history to determine the appropriate method of testing.
  • Obtain and document routine vital signs.
  • Operate an ECG machine to record electric activity variations and impulses of the heart.
  • Operate the following systems/machines: Q-Stress equipment, sphygmomanometer, Epic, and Merge application with proficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned
