The Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) coordinates, supervises, and conducts Presbyterian Deilvery System (PDS) accounting and financial services - to include all Presbyterian Healthcare Services Hospitals, Presbyterian Medical Group, Cap Center, Delivery System Ventures, Albuquerque Ambulance, and any affiliated entities delivering healthcare services

 

Coordinates, supervises and conducts financial analysis, LRFP, capital and budget development for PDS. (The tools and consolidated enterprise processes for LRFP, Capital and Budget will be managed by the PHS SVP of Finance.)

 

Participates as an integral member of the PDS leadership team. Coordinates financial reporting, LRFP and budgeting with PHS financial leaders and participates as an integral member of the PHS Finance Team.

 

Qualifications

* Bachelor Degree with CPA Certification or Masters Degree in Finance
* 10 years of Healthcare Leadership Experience

 

 

 

Responsibilities

*Develops, in concert with other financial leaders, the metrics and comparative data utilized in the financial reporting systems. Provides timely, required financial reporting to the PHS SVP of Finance in order for consolidation and reporting to occur for the PHS Finance Committee.

*Prepares and submits detailed variance analysis with appropriate mitigation plans to PDS leadership and the PHS SVP of Finance.

*Serves as a member of the PDS leadership team. Participates in team meetings. Ensures that financial discipline and accountability for cost management are driving forces in the management of PDS Ensures that all important decisions are accompanied by a reliable financial analysis.

*Serves as the key financial spokesperson to the PCNM and RDS Boards and related committees including the PMG Executive Committee. May coordinate these duties through direct reports.

*Establishes and monitors metrics of financial performance, including in-process metrics for the
Financial Responsibility Process.

*Serves as a role model for PDS in exhibiting CARES behaviors, and in completion of all required duties, including Compliance testing and certifications, Rounding, and Thank You Note
requirements.

*Takes a leadership role in developing the strategy for cost management and for improving the cost per member and cost per service for delivery system members and patients.

*Reviews and analyzes the financial statements of PDS with respect to the integrity of the reported results, the adequacy of reserves and accruals, and the fiscal health of the organization. Supervises the preparation of the monthly analysis and narrative for PDS. Develops reporting detail to analyze financial performance under fixed payment systems vs capitation, and performance by payer.

*Works in conjunction with the PHS SVP of Finance to maintain and improve accounting and financial systems in PDS to insure the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and reporting of financial results

*Oversees the work of the lead finance professionals for PDS including the preparation of the financial statements as well as the preparation of the long-range financial plan, the capital plans and the annual plan.

*Manages the Capital Process for PDS, serving as the lead for this effort, in consultation with the EVP/COO

*Obtains necessary training to act in a leadership role for quality improvement efforts in PDS.

*Plans, coordinates and supervises the operational, personnel and financial activities for all assigned departments.

*Provides mentorship and training to lead finance professionals for PDS.
