Overview

Presbyterian is seeking a Security Training Specialist-Clinical Staff.
The Security Specialist-Clinical Staff is responsible for the safety and security training for clinical staff within the Presbyterian organization. Provides quality and experienced training to clinical staff with an emphasis in workplace violence related injuries, batteries and or assaults. This role will ensure staff are afforded quality training opportunities on a consistent basis, within a multitude of security related topics. Responsibilities include development, implementation, and deployment of training curriculums. This role will work closely with the organizations Workplace Violence Analyst to provide appropriate training in respect to trending violence within the enterprise.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in criminal justice or related field; can substitute an additional 3 years law enforcement experience in lieu of degree.
  • 6 years in law enforcement.
  • NM State LE (Law Enforcement) Certification or Certifications in the areas of safety and security preferred.
  • NM State Instructor certification preferred.
  • Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (LEOSA) certification required.
  • Travel is required throughout the State of NM
  • Flexible work hours based on training needs of staff schedules
  • Strong communication and instructional ability.
  • Educated in safety and security topics.
  • Advanced skills and critical thinking related to classroom setup and maintenance, educational technology, webinars, tele-education, management of the learning experience/environment, adult learning principles, instructional program delivery skills, and curricula content.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and develop security and safety training curriculums and programs.
  • Provide clinical staff training in the fields of: Active Shooter, Situational Awareness, De-escalation, Reality Based Scenarios, Domestic Violence Awareness, Aggressive Driving & Self Defense.
  • Provide safety and security training for Home Health Care/Lone Worker staff members.
  • Research and deploy best practices in security healthcare training.
  • Establish and forge law enforcement relationships within numerous NM communities.
  • Provides accurate and timely training reports
  • Coordinates and delivers special events related to safety and security.
  • Partners with site security leadership to address needs and deployment of safety and security training.
  • Shares project management best practices with business department leaders and staff informally or through structured knowledge sharing.
  • Attend occasional departmental huddles to provide expertise in security and safety concerns.
  • Public speaking within numerous Presbyterian staff gathering and or meetings.
  • Create training plans specific to staffs needs.
  • Contribute to the overall goal of reducing the number of batteries and or assaults inflicted upon Presbyterian staff.
  • Reports training progress to the Security leadership team in a CompStat setting.
  • Develop detailed program plans, including charter, scope, metrics, and other elements as appropriate to the program.
  • Contributes to the strategic mission by exhibiting the highest standards of program management competence and seeking opportunities for continuous improvement at multiple levels.
  • Assist with training needs outside of clinical staff members as needed.
  • Create, plan, and deploy new safety and security initiatives, in the interest of adding value to the organizations overall security model.
  • Provide in the moment coaching to end users.
  • Conducts training, and security audits as determined by leadership.
  • Assist the overall security department in a multitude of tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
