Overview

We’re looking for a passionate and energetic Fitness Instructor to lead and supervise group fitness and wellness classes.

 

This role involves day-to-day instruction and ensuring a safe, engaging environment for participants.

Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in leading group fitness classes
  • Passionate about health and wellness
  • Comfortable working flexible hours
  • Able to create a motivating and inclusive environment 

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED required

Certifications: Nationally recognized fitness industry certification/registration preferred. Examples include:

    • ACSM, NSCA, ACE, AFAA, NETA
    • NIA White Belt or above
    • Tai Chi Chih, Tai Chi
    • Pilates Method Alliance
    • Heart Zones, Spinning, Zumba, Les Mills
    • Yoga Alliance
    • PWR!Moves, LSVT BIG, or LSVT LOUD

Experience: One year of experience in group fitness instruction preferred, especially with healthy and special populations.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs group fitness classes such as low-impact and step aerobics, indoor cycling, Pilates, strength and conditioning, Tai Chi Chih, NIA, and/or yoga
  • Maintains a nationally recognized fitness industry certification/registration
  • Assists with the upkeep of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials to ensure efficiency, health, comfort, and safety for patients and staff
  • Maintains professional knowledge through membership in professional organizations and regular participation in in-service programs, workshops, symposia, or university classes
  • Maintains patient records and documentation in accordance with facility policy
  • Monitors patient responses to exercise and reports concerns to the appropriate member of the Healthplex medical or exercise team
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Maintains current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification.
