High school plus trade or vocational school in a related field.
Three to five years management experience, management in a heath care setting preferred.
Responsibilities:
*Directs and coordinates employee activities in multiple functions of one or more facilities. Assists in planning and supervising daily activities.
*Ensures enforcement of PHS policies and procedures. Evaluates employee performance including corrective action when necessary.
*Assists in training of safety and education. Attends educational forums applicable to healthcare leadership, food services, housekeeping services, and infection control.
*Ensures that repair and preventive maintenance occurs on all equipment are completed in a timely quality manner.
*Recommends program strategies to establish and implement policies and procedures for operations. Supports organizational visions, values and strategies.
*Evaluates, maintains and monitors the performance of the department (s).
*Understands departmental operating budget. Ensures operations are within budget.
*Know the PHS and Department SOPs and follow these policies.
*Establish responsibilities for each employee and be sure the employee fully understands your expectations. Monitor and counsel the employee when these responsibilities are not being met. Praise the employee when accountabilities are being met.
*Coordinates department specific quality projects, assists with implementation and monitoring of infection control activities and other projects related to performance improvement.
*Maintains operating systems and coordinates training of new employees.
