This position is eligible for the Northern New Mexico differential of $4.00 per hour. (This differential may be adjusted or discontinued based on business requirements.)
Demonstrates proficiency in advanced surgical techniques across multiple specialties
Applies expert knowledge in emergency situations to support patient and surgical team safety
Anticipates the needs of both patient and surgeon through critical thinking and proactive preparation
Performs and maintains accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and needles before, during, and after procedures
Secures and prepares all surgical instruments and supplies prior to operations
Ensures the sterile field is properly established and maintained throughout procedures
Prepares patient skin for surgical intervention using aseptic techniques
Assists with patient positioning and re-positioning during surgery
Monitors patient status intraoperatively and provides support as needed
Delivers compassionate care during the pre-operative phase
Executes scrub functions with precision and adherence to protocol
Handles and routes surgical specimens correctly to designated departments
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and intraoperative medications
Stays current with industry developments through seminars, workshops, and professional publications
Adheres strictly to federal, state, and departmental safety regulations
Demonstrates advanced competency in ENT, plastic surgery, ophthalmic procedures, complex breast surgeries, and orthopedic/spine surgeries
