Responsibilities

Summary:
Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS) is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Medical Director to the champion the integration of simulation-based education into provider clinical practice, drive innovation, and ensure alignment with the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) standards and best practices at the Healthcare Advanced Learning Lab (HALL).

The Medical Director will report to the Executive Director of Clinical Education and work collaboratively with clinical, operational, and academic leaders to advance patient safety, quality improvement, and workforce development initiatives through simulation.

 

Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Program Development
*Provide vision and strategic direction for simulation-based education across Presbyterian Healthcare Services.
*Partner with system leadership to align simulation programs with organizational goals in quality, safety, and clinical excellence.
*Lead the ongoing development and execution of a system-wide simulation strategy.
Clinical and Educational Oversight
*Serve as the clinical lead for provider simulation scenarios, ensuring evidence-based content and alignment with adult learning principles.
*Oversee scenario design, debriefing standards, and assessment tools.
*Champion simulation for team training, procedural skills, and competency-based assessment.
Operational Collaboration
*Collaborate with HALL Director, Manager, technologists, and educators.
*Support planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
*Promote interprofessional and team-based learning.
Quality, Safety, and Research
*Advance safety via simulation for RCA, safety threat identification, and systems testing.
*Lead or support simulation-related research and quality improvement projects.
*Support data-driven program evaluation and improvement.
Accreditation and Standards
*Complies with SSH accreditation standards.
*Support SSH Accreditation pursuit and maintenance.

Credentials Required:
* Masters degree or fellowship in Medication Education or Healthcare Simulation
* Experience in simulation programs
*Simulation research and publication history
Skills & Competencies:
* Strategic thinking and systems per
* Leadership and team-building
* Excellent communication skills
*Proficiency in simulation technologies
* Commitment to patient safety
Working Conditions:
* HALL and clinical environments
* Flexible scheduling with some early mornings/evenings
