Presbyterian is seeking a Rehab Tech / Scheduler! This position involves a mix of patient scheduling, administrative tasks, and assisting therapists with patient care. Accuracy in scheduling and ensuring prior authorizations are in place are key responsibilitie

This position is eligible for the Northern New Mexico differential of $4.00 per hour. (This differential may be adjusted or discontinued based on business requirements.)

 

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent

  • Minimum 9 months experience in a healthcare office or clinic setting with significant clinician interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent patient experience using CARES, AIDET, and EPE tools

  • Resolve complaints promptly and manage conflict, escalating when needed

  • Round with patients to ensure comfort and communicate delays

  • Schedule patients accurately, validate demographics, and set expectations for authorizations, referrals, and costs

  • Meet with patients to schedule procedures and give non-clinical instructions

  • Build positive relationships with staff and follow scheduling protocols

  • Assist therapists with patient care and departmental duties under clinician guidance

  • Demonstrate knowledge of growth, development, medical terminology, and rehab modalities

  • Refer patients to financial advocates and ensure authorizations are secured before procedures

  • Create accurate messages and route them appropriately in Epic

  • Guide patients through Release of Information processes

  • Perform confirmation calls with directions and instructions

  • Respond quickly to distressed patients and assist clinical teams as directed

  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in clinic and rehab areas, reporting concerns

  • Make reminder calls, reschedule appointments, and adjust provider schedules for efficiency

  • Collaborate with clinicians and management to improve scheduling and programs

  • Restock supplies, maintain equipment logs, and manage inventory

  • Perform timekeeping duties and other assigned tasks
