Overview

Summary:
The Director of Internal Communications leads the development and execution of a comprehensive internal communications strategy that connects, informs, and inspires Presbyterians 13,000+ employees and providers. This role is responsible for shaping how we communicate our mission, strategy, and culture across the organization helping every employee understand their role in advancing Presbyterians purpose and vision. The Director partners closely with executive leadership, HR, Marketing, and External Communications to ensure consistent, transparent, and compelling communication that drives engagement, alignment, and performance.

Responsibilities


* Develop and implement an enterprise-wide internal communications strategy aligned with organizational goals, leadership priorities, and cultural transformation initiatives.
* Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership on internal messaging, tone, and timing especially during key organizational moments (strategy rollout, transformation updates, leadership transitions, etc.).
* Integrate communications across multiple channels email, intranet, town halls, digital signage, and video to ensure consistency and maximize reach and engagement.
* Lead development of clear, authentic messaging for internal audiences, including CEO and executive communications, system-wide updates, and leader cascades.
* Manage and refine internal communication vehicles such as PresNet, Lead Pres Update, Transformation Updates communications, and enterprise leader connects and town halls.
* Support crisis or issue-related communications in coordination with External Communications and HR.
* Partner with HR and Organizational Development to strengthen leader communications capabilities and align communications with leadership expectations/competencies and engagement priorities.
* Support programs and messaging that reinforce Presbyterians culture, mission, and values.
* Measure communication effectiveness through surveys, analytics, and feedback loops to continuously improve reach and impact.
* Lead and mentor a high-performing team responsible for internal content development, channel management, and creative storytelling.
* Stays current with trends in communications metrics and measurement. Encourages a culture of innovation within the team, identifying opportunities for process improvements and creative problem-solving.
* Manage the internal communications editorial calendar, ensuring alignment with key enterprise priorities.
* Partner with Creative Services and Digital teams to evolve the intranet, video, and other digital platforms to enhance employee experience.
